Hard Six is an original band from Ventura, California. With a sound that combines 50’s rockabilly, 40’s country, and 70’s punk, Hard Six creates hauntingly melodic and energetic rock and roll which appeals to both vintage and punk audiences. Hard Six is largely credited with reviving the Rockabilly / Psychobilly scene in Ventura which has led to many notable bands returning to Ventura for successful shows in recent years. The band has shared the stage with many great artists such as Reverend Horton Heat, Nekromantix, Agent Orange, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame artist Wanda Jackson, The Blasters, The Polecats, The Paladins, Three Bad Jacks, Slim Jim Phantom, Robert Gordon, Big Sandy, Los Lobos, James Intveld, and many others.
Hard six won the 2017 Reader’s Choice Awards as BEST BAND IN VENTURA COUNTY, beating out all other genres.
Hard Six won the VCMA’s “CAN YOU FEEL IT” award, which is to distinguish a band that has written songs that reach their audience on a deep emotional level.
Hard Six released their second album entitled “Teenage Paranormal Romance” in 2012 which continues to sell thousands of copies each year. Stand-out tracks on the album are ‘999 Tears’, ‘The Legend of Hunker Lee’, and ‘The Unicorn Song’ which are consistently drawing new fans to Hard Six as the they are increasingly being played on various local and online radio stations. They have very recently released their third album “Haunted Ride” which again shows the great versatility of the band and is reviewed here on Damnation Dance Party
In September of 2013 Hard Six released their music video Haunted Ride which features Bill Murphy of the hit cable show ‘Fact or Faked: The Paranormal Files’ and Chuck Testa, known the world over for his famous an hilarious viral videos.
